We have had a very exciting week at The Black Swan and we have some very exciting new developments coming along in the next few weeks. Stay turned to our website and social media for the big reveal.
Congratulations on your 60th wedding anniversary Judith and Kenneth Doran! If you've visited us before there's a good chance you've seen Judith pottering about or Kenneth doing our beautiful flowers. Louise's parents are always around and love coming to the hotel for special occasions.
It's all looking very cosy in our Hygge yurt by the river tonight. Do you feel like a night away in the woods?
Our Wilderness themed yurt is furnished in subtle blues and greens of Voyage Maison fabric to give you a calm feeling from the moment you walk through the door. This yurt, right by the river, is full of macramé made by the hotel's owner Louise - a lockdown hobby - as well as full size furniture, electricity and a log burning stove. This yurt sleeps 2 people and up to 2 dogs. Call us on 01539623204 or book direct online for the best rates.
Our yurts are open for business! We have spent lockdown building and decorating our new yurts. They all have full size furniture, electricity, log burning stoves and their own unique theme. This is our "Hygge" yurt. It's a Danish word meaning a mood of cosiness and contentment. We hope you agree that this yurt is very hygge. Call us on 01539623204 or book online if you are interested in booking Hygge yurt.
Sleeps up to 2 people, dog friendly.

We are busy working on a new website which will have special offers and more details
Every year the staff at The Black Swan go on a holiday together for a few days. This trip usually has a theme and a "wacky races" challenge. The race this year included jigsaw puzzle clues, cooking clues and performances which had to be filmed to win points along the way. The theme.... children's cartoons. The staff don't know where the final destination will be but this year we ended up at the stunning Kennox House in Scotland and we had an amazing few days enjoying the jacuzzi, playing games and enjoying the giant cinema room. In previous years it has been the Durham dales, Edinburgh and the girls have been to Whitby, York, Chester and Barcelona together in the past. The boys usually take themselves a few times a year away for dinners to sample the amazing food on offer around the country. This year they went to London and had a brilliant time. All in all we just really like spending time together and I think it shows in the pictures of our 2020 trip below.
